Talk about social networking and not mention Twitter is almost impossible to avoid these days, Twitter has been boosting impressive statistics in the past year or so, like a 1382% growth, but like many other social network sites, it seems people are losing interest after one month.

According to a stat tracking company, Twitter’s retention is at the 60% mark, which means that 60% of users who sign fail to return the next month. A few factors could be related to these low retention rate like the fact that most people are using Twitter via desktop applications like Twhirl and continue Tweeting and never return to Twitter.com.

Why don’t people stick around is the million dollar question, more importantly, what improvements are required to make users stick around? Have your say in our comments section.
