BBC World Cup Coverage, in High Definition

Following the last post regarding movie downloads…. Closer to home, the BBC will be providing High Definition coverage of Wimbledon and the World Cup this year.

High Definition Television (HD TV) gives you picture quality 4 times what we have now. The downside is, it means you will need yet another set top box (£299 + £10 per month from SKY), and an HD ready TV.

The first World Cup match and live HD TV programme to be broadcast will be Germany v Costa Rica on 9 June.
